Architectural Digest Names Saatva Classic a “Best Online Mattress”

With so many mattresses out there, it can be difficult to figure out exactly which one is right for you. Should you go for a classic innerspring mattress or a body-hugging om/blog/memory-foam-mattress-gueviews>ide/>a>memory foam mattress? Should you choose a softer comfort level or a firmer one? To make the decision easier for you, the staff at Architectural Digest put popular online mattresses to the test and rounded up their 10 favorites, with our Saatva Classic earning a spot on the list. Each staff member slept on a new mattress for a week, taking everything from comfort level to delivery experience into account in their reviews.

Here’s what Erin Kaplan, Architectural Digest public relations director, had to say about the Saatva Classic in Luxury Firm:

“The mattress feels soft and ‘gives’ at pressure points (e.g. at your shoulders and upper arms when you’re sleeping on your side), but without any noticeable impact or movement elsewhere on the mattress,” Kaplan wrote. The Luxury Firm comfort level was firmer than the mattress she and her husband currently sleep on, she noted, so it took a couple of days to get used to, “but once we did, it was terrific.” By the end of the second week of sleeping on her new Saatva, she gave it a 9 out of 10 for comfort.

We’re not surprised Kaplan enjoyed her Saatva. The Luxury Firm is our bestselling comfort level, chosen by 80% of customers. A medium firmness, it works for most types of sleepers: side, back, and stomach. The coil-on-coil construction features a steel coil support base for durability, topped with individually wrapped comfort coils for contouring and reduced motion transfer.

Beyond the mattress, Kaplan praised Saatva’s free white glove delivery. “I received a text letting me know the mattress would be delivered the next day. I then got a call that morning saying the movers would be arriving in 30 minutes…The delivery guys set [the mattress] up quickly. They were efficient and very sweet. They even played with my three-year-old twins, helping them jump on the new bed!”

While Kaplan didn’t have her old mattress taken away (Saatva offers this service for free in addition to delivery and setup), she noted that the delivery team moved her old one to another room. Overall, setup took only 10 minutes.

The bottom line: “I would definitely recommend it if you’re partial to a firmer mattress,” wrote Kaplan in her review. “Delivery and setup couldn’t have been easier.”
